The Event: Run or Walk

​Join us for an exciting 5K walk or run at an iconic location, followed by a vibrant festival with delicious food from all around the world. You can participate in a relay race with teams of five in any of the following categories:

Relay Race – Women
Relay Race – Men
Relay Race – Mixed (including non-binary)
Team Walk –  Unite as a team rather than as individuals

Each category provides fully catered (food and drinks included) or non-catered (purchase at the festival) options.  So come along and don’t miss this dynamic event full of competition and fun!

The Fun: Eat-Drink-Dance

Our event festival is the place to relax socialise and enjoy great food from multiple vendors. Tables and chairs are provided and Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be served at multiple bars too. DJ’s will keep you entertained until our live music begins with two bands guaranteed to get you back up on your feet.

The Route:

Starting and finishing in the centre of Media City you will head out around a 2.5km loop that runs over the canal and runs past the imperial war museum along with the ITV and BBC television studios. The race involves laps, the course is flat and quick. There will be 2 lap for the 5k. The course follows the paths and pavements inside the centre of media city. This is not a closed road race. Each kilometre will be accurately marked out and we have plenty of helpers to encourage you on your way to the finish line.

How To Get There

 

By Train
The best and easiest way to get to Media City is to take the Metrolink, with ‘Media City’ Metrolink station located not even 100 meters from the event village. Media City can be accessed from the city center and changing at Cornbrook station, just outside the city center.

The closest train station to MediaCityUK is Salford Crescent train station, which is approximately a 10-minute journey by taxi.

 By Bus

There are services from Manchester city center, Intu Trafford Centre, Hulme, Swinton and East Didsbury.

Frequent bus services from outside Salford Crescent station link it with MediaCityUK.

 By Car

MediaCityUK can be found from the M60 ring road on to the M602 exiting at junction 3 signposted Salford Quays/Trafford Park. From the roundabout follow signs for Salford Quays turning right onto Broadway at the first set of Traffic lights.

We have ensured you can enjoy the experience on your terms. Choose to enter 1 of 4 team categories, mens, womens, mixed or walking. For each of the categories you can choose either a fully catered option where drinks and food are included in the entry price for your team or a non catered option where teams can purchase food and drinks at the festival village independently. Companies can enter multiple teams across each of the categories. If entering one team the person registering becomes the team captain and will organise their team accordingly using the links we provide. If registering more than one team the person registering becomes the corporate captain and will nominate team captains. These team captains will then source participants for their teams.
